I/we declare that this work is unpublished and original, is not under submission to any other national or international journal, complies with all ethical procedures, and has my/our authorization to be published.

Sincerely,

Name(s) of the signatory(ies), signature(s), and ORCID of each author.

Title Page (without author identification) must contain only:

  • Full title in Portuguese, not exceeding 12 words;
  • Full title in Spanish or English, consistent with the Portuguese title;
  • Acknowledgment of financial support, when applicable.

A separate page must contain the title, abstract, and keywords in Portuguese. For keywords, it is necessary to use the Psychology Terminology from BVS Psi (http://newpsi.bvs-psi.org.br/cgi-bin/wxis1660.exe/iah/?IsisScript=iah/iah.xis&lang=P&base=TERMINOLOGIA).

For research reports, the abstract must include: description of the research problem, relevant sample characteristics, method used for data collection, presentation of results, and discussion.

A separate page must include the title in a foreign language (Spanish or English, consistent with the Portuguese title), the abstract in the chosen foreign language, and 3–5 keywords. The foreign-language abstract must follow the same specifications as the Portuguese version.

In all categories, manuscripts must have a clear and recognizable structure, signaled by a system of headings and subheadings. For research reports, manuscripts must include: introduction, method, results, discussion, conclusion, and references.

Suggested locations for figures and tables must be indicated in the text. Author citations must follow APA guidelines. Literal transcriptions of texts must be placed in quotation marks. Citations must always include page numbers.

Quotations of 40 words or more must appear in a separate indented block (five spaces from the margin), without quotation marks, in size 12 font, as in the rest of the text.

References must follow these general rules:

Single-author works are ordered by year of publication, oldest first.

Single-author works precede multi-author works when the surname is the same.

Works with the same first author but different co-authors are ordered by co-author surnames.

Works with the same multiple authorship are ordered by year, oldest first. Works with identical authorship and year are ordered alphabetically by title, ignoring articles/pronouns unless the title explicitly indicates sequence.

The author’s name must not be replaced by dashes or symbols when repeated.

References must be double-spaced, Times New Roman size 12, normal paragraph format with a hanging indent on the second line, and italics for emphasis.

Appendices should be avoided, but may be accepted if they contain essential or original information.

Figures must include captions, one per page, at the end of the manuscript. For quality reproduction, drawings must be submitted with photographic quality. The maximum width is 8.3 cm for single-column figures and 17.5 cm for double-column figures. Captions must remain legible if reduction is necessary.

Tables must include a title and notes, one per page. Simple tables (one printed column) must not exceed 60 characters in width; complex tables (two printed columns) must not exceed 125 characters in width. Tables must not exceed 55 lines, including title and footnotes. For exceptions, consult the APA manual.

In-text citation rules:

Two authors: Both surnames must always be cited: “Review by Guzzo and Witter (1987)” or “... was described in an exploratory study (Guzzo & Witter, 1987).”

Three to five authors: Cite all surnames in the first citation. In subsequent citations, cite only the first author’s surname followed by “et al.” and the year in the first citation within the paragraph. Example: “Vendramini, Silva, and Cazorla (2000) found...” [first citation]; “Vendramini et al. (2000) found...” [subsequent citation].

Six or more authors: Cite only the first author’s surname followed by “et al.” from the first citation, unless this causes ambiguity. Example: “Rosário et al. (2008).”

Secondary sources: When citing a work referenced in another source (but not directly read): “Taylor (as cited in Santos, 1990) states that...” In the reference list, include only the secondary source (Santos).
